In addition to monetary donations, during the entire month of July until the 27th, Island Art Party will be hosting a 'Back to School' Supply Drive. You can contribute by donating school supplies at Island Art Party and receive a special discount when booking an art class. Kama'aina Adults can enjoy a discounted rate of $40 with a donation (regularly $44), while Out-of-State Adults can book for $50 (regularly $59). Join us for an inspiring and educational event designed to empower moms and their teenage daughters for a successful school semester. Our "Empowered Minds" event focuses on fostering a strong mother-daughter bond while equipping attendees with essential knowledge and tools for personal growth and academic achievement.
On Saturday, July 29th, 20 students and parents will join us for the event, where they will pick up their donated school supplies and participate in the "Confident Schoolgirl" workshop.
During this workshop, we will empower young girls to build self-confidence, develop important life skills, and foster positive relationships. The workshop consists of two 30-minute sessions, focusing on different topics:
Special Education Talk: Navigating Periods with Confidence, with Kyla Schell
A guest speaker from the field of special education will address an essential topic: periods. Learn about menstrual health, hygiene practices, and self-care tips for maintaining physical and emotional well-being. This talk promotes open dialogue and addresses questions or concerns.
Vision Board Workshop, with Savannah Gankiewicz, Miss Hawaii USA
Unleash creativity and set goals for the upcoming school year by creating personalized vision boards. We'll provide art supplies, magazines, and guidance to help visualize dreams and aspirations.
Our aim is to equip students with the tools they need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. By attending the workshop, students and parents will not only receive essential school supplies but also gain valuable insights that can positively impact their educational journey.
